For the second year in a row, we are so excited to bring back Ethiopia Shantawene Natural to share with you! This coffees’ aroma will delight your senses with notes of blueberry cobbler, raspberry jam and fresh apple. It has a creamy, complex body and a hint of allspice at the finish. Applying a medium roast to this coffee brings out notes of blueberry, cocoa nibs, cane sugar with low acidity but maximum flavor.
This coffee comes to you from Daye Bensa, a coffee farm and mill in the Sidama District run by the Dukamo family. The Shantawene village farm and small village communities higher on the mountain celebrate great harvests together, and their passion shows in their coffee. The farm focuses on growing the highest quality coffee and is widely known for creating a sense of community around their work.
Ethiopia Shantawene is organically grown and naturally processed, where the whole cherry dries on raised beds imparting a fruity and unique profile. Impressively, this coffee won 7th place (from more than 1400 entries) in the 2020 Cup of Excellence in Ethiopia. One taste, and you’ll see right away why we reserve this coffee each and every year.
