Ethiopia Guji Suke Quto
Ethiopian coffees from the Guji zone are some of the most well-known and well-loved coffees from Africa. You can find many naturally processed Guji coffees, but we are thrilled to offer a washed coffee from Suke Quto farm that is both delicious and supports a farmer that is becoming a model for community-focused coffee production.
Suke Quto Farm was established by Tesfaye Bekele in response to devastating bushfires in the late 1990s. Tesfaye aimed to restore and diversify the land and provide local farmers with an alternative source of income through coffee cultivation. The farm is organically certified and Rainforest Alliance certified, and collaborates with 171 outgrowers and employs over 200 seasonal workers. The farm's efforts have improved local infrastructure and focuses on sustainable and environmentally friendly practices.
The aroma of this coffee is sweet like raisins and citrus with a reminiscent note of brownie batter. Flavors start off bold with earthy chocolates, and then melts into brighter lime and cantaloupe notes as it cools. Moderate acidity and body, this coffee is an adventure in a cup, and is perfect for summer iced coffees or americanos!
